Tanika Ray's Hair.... Revealed?

If you're a fan of VH1 reality shows, by now you've seen the premier episode of Beverly Hills Fabulous. A typical "Beauty Shop"-type show, the standout event was when Tanika Ray came in to get a straight weave installed by Elgin Charles, the shop owner. *record scratch* A cry went up all over the Internet. "What?! I thought Tanika's hair was real??!!"

If a Google search has brought you to my site, you were mostly likely searching for "Tanika Ray's Hair". My blog post from 3 years ago has become the #1 search result on Tanika's fiery mane. Even though the episode clearly shows her real hair being braided down to install a weave, I took to Twitter to get to the bottom of this "scandalous" situation.

 And to my extreme delight, Tanika not only retweeted me, she read my blog and replied to me!

She actually spent a good portion of the evening replying to people who had questions about her hair.

So there you have it. Will this satisfy all of the doubters? Who knows. But Tanika has been and continues to be a natural hair idol of mine and maybe she can inspire you too.
