The reformulation bug has bitten me in the butt once again. My beloved staple leave-in conditioner has been reformulated, and there is nothing improved about this new chemical-laden soup featuring Paraffinum Liquidium (AKA Mineral Oil). My hair definitely felt drier after I started using this new bottle before I noticed the ingredients changed. I went several beauty supply stores in my area to see if anyone had any old bottles left, they did not.Old Ingredients:

New Ingredients:
Deionized Water, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, PPG12-PEG-50 Lanolin, Dicetyldimonium Chloride, Polyquaternium 32 & Paraffinum Liquidium, Tea Tree (Melaleuca Alter-nifolia)Leaf Oil, Polysorbate 80, Oat (Avena Sativa) Kernel Extract, Allantoin, Silk Amino Acids, Sheep Sorrell, Yarrow, Slippery Elm Bark, Sage, Henna, Comfrey, Burdock Root, Goldenseal, Cherry Bark, Ginseng, Black Walnut, Chamomile, Alfalfa, Hyssop, Wheat Germ, Methyl & Propyl Paraben & Fragrance
Even though I have several other leave-ins to keep my hair content probably through the rest of the year, the product junkie in me just had to buy something to try to replace my staple. So I went to the health food store and picked up vegetable glycerin, jojoba oil, extra virgin coconut oil, and castor oil. I am finally going to try making my own products! Since I've had some whole leaf aloe vera gel chilling in the back of my refrigerator for months, I am going to try making homemade jojoba jel. (Shoutout to GypsyCurls, hey girl!) More on that experiment coming up.
